The world is experiencing significant disturbances to the existing international order, which has supported global economic growth up to now. These disturbances have put into perspective much of the value that we had previously taken for granted and have created and deepened conflict and fragmentation. Furthermore, advances in technologies such as generative AI have made previously unimaginable changes to the very fabric of society more likely than ever. In such an era of uncertainty and confusion, I believe that it is necessary for humankind to work to discover value that is absolute and common to all—in other words, to engage in the co-creation of social value. I personally empathize greatly with the purpose of this forum, which seeks to examine new value by combining differing opinions and values from various fields, including the arts, philosophy, science, and industry, and am looking forward to engaging in discussion with you all.

It is said that Albert Einstein came up with the Theory of Relativity while playing Mozart on the violin, and that Steve Jobs was inspired by the deformed perspective of ukiyo-e prints when developing his computer icons. Sensibility inspired by art is at the heart of many of the discoveries and creations that define the eras in which we live. Do increasingly complex social issues, then, not also require a platform that will enable us to fully leverage both intelligence and sensibility to imagine and create new values aimed at solving those issues? It is with this idea in mind that we have established the Social Value Co-Creation Forum (Enyu Forum). I am excited to work together with each of you to build a social platform where those with a wealth of intelligence in various fields and those with finely-honed sensibilities come together on a shared stage to engage in discussion, respect and stimulate one another, and together generate new value.
